How to brew the perfect cup of coffee
July 27, 2007
Proper brewing is essential to bring out the fullness of flavor in each cup. While there are many techniques to brewing, we recommend using a French Press. Not only does a French Press bring out the best flavor, it is also the most cost efficient method for making exceptional coffee (it looks fancy too).
What you will need:
1. A French press (we recommend a Bodum French Press).
2. A regular or electric tea kettle.
3. A timer.
4. Ground Coffee.
5. Water.
Instructions:
1. Fill the kettle with water based on desired amount of coffee to be brewed.
2. Bring water to a boil.
3. Grind coffee and add to the French Press (1T for every 5oz of water).
4. Pour boiled water over coffee grounds (note: there may be extra bloom, let it settle and continue adding water).
5. Using the French Press filter, push the grounds into the water until they reach the bottom of the Press.
6. Pull the French Press filter back to the top of the Press so that the filter is resting on top of the water.
7. After 4 minutes (this is where you use that handy timer), press the filter to the bottom of the press.
8. Enjoy!
