Roaster’s Blog: Espresso Iced Coffee

I am going to take the blog in a bit of a different direction today, for those of you with an espresso machine; I have the perfect recipe for an amazing summer drink.

Ingredients:
Double shot of either OVC Espresso Blend, or OVC Brazil Cerrado
Milk to bring the coffee to your desired color
1 or 2 teaspoons of raw sugar (to taste)
Touch of light cream (optional)

You will also need:
Cocktail shaker or equivalent
Ice
Glass

First, pull the shots of espresso (remember to grind the coffee immediately before pulling the shot for best flavor). Pour the shot into the cocktail shaker and add sugar to taste, swirl to dissolve the sugar, add a handful of ice cubes (the colder the better). Add in the milk until the mixture is the desired color you like to drink. Now is the important part…shake it, shake it, shake it, and shake it (like a Polaroid picture). And now what’s cooler than cool….ice cold!!!  Strain it into a glass (you don’t need the ice as it is already really cold). Add a dash of cream if you so desire, and enjoy.
