Roaster’s Blog: Whole Bean vs. Ground Coffee
I am often asked the question, why do you sell whole bean and not ground coffee, to which I have the answer you might be looking for. When you grind your coffee you immediately notice that amazing fresh roasted coffee aroma; this is the coffee letting out its flavor. Next you add the hot water and your coffee is made at the peak of its flavor. Well, once you grind coffee the oxygen in the air starts to breakdown the essential flavor compounds leaving you with a quickly degrading product. Whole bean coffee on the other hand, when packaged properly in sealed one-way air valve bags (which let gas out but not oxygen in), can retain their flavor for months without noticeable depreciation in flavor. This is why we sell our customers coffee in whole bean form. Retaining freshness for when you are ready to brew coffee is our goal at OVC. This way you will continue to have great tasting coffee cup after cup, after cup.
Good night and Good coffee.
Great idea for your summer: For a great summer treat try brewing our coffee double strength and add sugar to taste if you like. Immediately refrigerate. When chilled add ice cubes and milk or cream to taste - a refreshing summer classic. We recommend out artist blend for the best ice coffee.

I recieved a pound of One Village Kenya AA Coffee. I totally agree with the whole bean idea. The aroma as soon as I ground some of it was amazing and the coffee was just as good if not better. Great coffee.
