Steve’s Nigeria Trip - Day 2

July 19th

We had pineapple and papaya for breakfast. After breakfast, we hiked through the jungle on a trail that took us to the top of the mountain where 10 acres of land was cleared for the school. There was a small canopy set up where 30 people gathered for the ceremony to dedicate this ground, school and all that goes on here. Several local pastors were in attendance.

Everyone marched around the site and then we reconvened for prayer.

We then went back to Emenike and Chidi’s house for a time with the current King of the area, King Essa.

Then, the children that will be attending the school showed up, 200 of them. We gave each child vitamin A and de-worming medication. After that, 60 widows came and we distributed to each rice, de-worming medicine and vitamins. They all went home encouraged.
