Steve’s Nigeria Trip - Day 3
We literally spend our day at church for 7 hours, worship, preaching and eating. Emmanuel Aparson’s was the pastor at the church that meets at Abia State University. The ride to and from the church was awesome back country where people were washing and bathing in the small streams along the way.
Our original plans had us flying to Abuja this evening and on to Jos tomorrow, but our plans changed. The medical people are on strike in Sokoto so we will not be going there this trip.
We will be in Otampa until Wednesday morning and then on to Jos to see Bala, the coffee farm and the school.
I’m having the time of my life playing with the children in Otampa.
Naomi, Josh and Benjamin are siblings who got thrown out of their house after their parents died.
Since their father’s brother did not want them, they had to go to a mission house. Naomi is 21 and Josh is 19, and both want to go to University badly. They both are hard workers around the town. With the guidance of local Nigerians, the group of us were able to sponsor Josh and Naomi’s first semister of University for $100 (it costs $300 to sponser a student per year at a University).
I hope and pray that all is well with One Village Coffee!
Peace,
Steve
