Commitment in a Cup - Honduras
One Village Coffee is working with the MAMA Project, Inc to raise enough money to provide vitamins and proper nutrition for the entire population of Honduras. In 2008, we are committed to assisting the MAMA Project, Inc’s Deworming Campaign by providing vitamins and education in healthy living for 8 new children everyday. This campaign will be a huge step in eliminating many diseases and illnesses related to malnourishment in Honduras. Below is a little info about other programs the MAMA Project, Inc is currently running.
The MAMA Project, Inc began in 1987 working in Honduras. Now they also have a scholarship program in Haiti and are beginning work in Nigeria. They are vocal advocates of severely malnourished children, a group that is often abandoned. MAMA has grown through the years and has been able to help countless people in Honduras. Here’s a look at some of the work that is done in Honduras by MAMA:
- Health/Hygiene Education
- Medical Brigades
- Work Teams
- Preschools
- De-worming and Vitamin A Promotion
- Community Development
- Scholarship Programs
