Commitment in a Cup

March 1st marks the one year anniversary of One Village Coffee and we are celebrating by launching our Commitment in a Cup Program, which supports various non-profit projects around the world. This year our focus is on improving the well being of children in different communities and helping to build wells in Nigeria which will provide irrigation for local coffee farmers.

The 8 in ‘08 Goals:

• Work with coffee farmers in Nigeria to build 8 wells that will enable crop irrigation and supply clean water to their communities.
• Assist The MAMA Project’s 2008 Deworming in Honduras by providing vitamins and education in health living for 8 new children every day.
• Provide the means for 80 children to attend education centers in Cairo, Egypt through our partnership with Stephen’s Children. These educational centers offer health programs, meals, and schooling for those living in the garbage dumps of Cairo.
• Partner with the Indian Valley Boys and Girls club in Souderton, PA to sponsor their Project Learn program. Project Learn is an educationally based program that is designed to instill at-risk youth the tools they need to succeed in school and become lifelong learners.

Cafe Blend (1lb) / $8.95

This blend is our version of a mélange roast – one single origin roasted to two different levels and blended together afterwards. This type of blend allows you to experience one kind of coffee in a more unique way. Lemony, sweet, and a hint of grapefruit best describe the flavor in the cup. The medium body gives a lighter feel on the palette, but we found it to be contrasted nicely with a great depth and complexity due to the blending method.
