Recipe: Sparkler Iced Coffee
4th of July weekend is upon us! The only time of year the sky sounds like a bowl of rice krispies and the entire country more or less smells like a hot dog.
We know you were invited to a million backyard/roof top/pool side/bbq/potluck/get togethers and we want you to make it to EVERY SINGLE ONE. You have potato salad to eat and beer to drink, my friend.
Sounds like a refreshing coffee beverage is in order. Enter: SPARKLER ICED COFFEE!
So let's get started.
Basically, we are going to brew coffee hot (whatever way you normally do-Pour Over, French Press, Drip) and then pour the brewed coffee over some sparkly iced cubes.
STEP ONE: MAKE ICE CUBES WITH SPARKING WATER
STEP 2: FIGURE OUT HOW MUCH YOU NEED OF EVERYTHING
The way to do this is to measure out how many ice cubes you can fit in the glasses you are going to serve this sparkly treat in. For example, we fit 10 ice cubes in our classic 14 oz glass tumbler. Once you know that, you can figure out how much hot water and coffee you will need.
STEP 3: MAKE COFFEE LIKE YOU NORMALLY MAKE COFFEE, BUT USE THE PROPORTIONS LISTED ABOVE
I know! It feels like not enough water! You are right on. We are making a stronger version of the coffee-because that ice is totally going to melt (c'mon, it's so freaking hot out!). This way the drink won't taste watery.
STEP 4: FILL UP YOUR CUP WITH THOSE SPARKLY ICE CUBES YOU MADE
STEP 5: POUR THE HOT COFFEE CONCENTRATE OVER THE ICE CUBES, LEAVE A LITTLE ROOM!
STEP 6: TOP THE CUP OFF WITH SPARKLING WATER
So-what did you think? Tell us and post photos!
