One Village Coffee's Best of 2020

2020 was certainly a year to remember (Pretty sure we could all use a hug), and one that reminded us about the importance of community and taking time to appreciate the little things and heroes all around us, be it frontline workers, teachers adapting to online classes, or you as you navigate the changes of your everyday world. (Yep, you're a hero!)

There were plenty of breathtaking roasts at One Village Coffee and content in the world of pop culture! Just like you, all of us here at One Village Coffee have needed plenty of coffee, conversations, and music, movies, and shows to get us through each day. To mark the end of the year, we present you the "Best of 2020" from One Village Coffee. It's a "signature blend" of favorite One Village staff picks, content, moments that we savored throughout the year.

Best Coffee
My favorite coffee on any day is Legend. However, we launched our seasonal blend, Share this year and that has probably been my favorite of the year. If you haven't tried it yet, grab a bag before it's gone!

Best Movie or Show
I am definitely a movie person but most movies that I'm interested in(other than the old reliable Hallmark holiday movie extravaganza) have been delayed in production this year. Therefore, I will pick a show. The Netflix original series Outer Banks was incredible and really marked a very specific time of quarantine in my mind. I enjoyed everything about which is fairly evident considering it only took me a couple days(aka late nights) to finish!

Best Music
My favorite band is NEEDTOBREATHE and this year they released a brand new full length album, 'Out of Body'!  Also been jamming to Valley a lot.

Best Moment
2020 had some really wonderful moments. I was in one of my best friend's wedding early in the year. I started working at One Village Coffee, I bought a new car, my friends threw me a COVID surprise birthday party! It's been a wild ride!  More than anything, I've enjoyed all the memories I've gotten to REALLY appreciate because of all that 2020 has thrown at us.

Eating Pizza on the beach with my resilient mom, my beautiful wife, and amazing 5 kids this past summer. We watched the sunset and the kids were running about and swimming. At the same time sharing memories and eating quality pizza.

Share was hands down my favorite blend, both for its taste and the fact that the program built around it supports World Central Kitchen and survivors of disasters. Every sip counts. 

Best movie or show
Middleditch and Schwartz, the Netflix special of improv performances starring Thomas Middleditch and Ben Schwartz, offered laughs that were much-needed in a turbulent year. Ben Schwartz may be my favorite comedic performer around and the performances will leave you quoting one-liners for days.
 

Best music

The entire "Punisher" album by Phoebe Bridgers is a raw and clever sophomore effort by one of the most sincere artists I've ever heard. 

Best moment
Halloween is more than a holiday to me. It's a month-long celebration, and so friends and I, determined to not have Halloween be canceled, held a drive-in double feature with a local brewery and showed the films Halloween and Halloween (2018). It was a safe, spooky, and spectacular night that filled me with hope and joy.
