Orange | Plum | Molasses
A Single Origin From:
Ben Weiner’s coffee farm in Matagalpa, Nicaragua is called Idealista, which translates to idealist in English. Weiner is just that. It takes a lot of courage, and certainly a fair amount of idealism, to buy a coffee farm, build a community of coffee growers, and start an importing operation (Gold Mountain Coffee Growers) to connect those producers with roasters who are ready to pay a premium for quality. Idealista and all of the Gold Mountain community is nothing if not quality focused, from their live seed bank to the beautiful burlap bags they export their coffee in, they are pushing quality at each and every step. It comes through in the cup too, across the board Gold Mountain coffees are clean, sweet, and distinct in flavor profile!
In the cup this coffee has a silky texture and juicy refreshing flavor profile. Notes of plum, orange, and pear lead the way followed by deep brown sugar and molasses richness. It’s a well-rounded, sophisticated, highly drinkable coffee.
