Villager

The pure, elegant beauty of washed Ethiopian coffee. The precision and clarity of top Colombian coffees. Villager is the marriage of these two pillars of the global specialty coffee. Its no secret that Villager is the favorite amongst many of us around here at the One Village Coffee HQ. It has something for everyone - the modest roast level and the lively acidity appeal to the most demanding “impress-me” coffee pro palates, while the sweetness, balance, and drinkability make it an obvious choice for a crowd. We arrived at the current formulation of Villager back in 2016 when we entered the America’s Best Espresso Competition in New York. The roasting team set out on a journey of discovery, cue the dramatic music, hahaha. Well less a journey of discovery, more a methodical internal competition of sorts to find the espresso we wanted to present at competition. The Ethiopia/Colombia pairing won out in the internal competition and propelled us to a 3rd place finish. And so it was to be that Villager would meld lovely Colombian and Ethiopian coffees for many a year, pleasing many a coffee drinker along the way! Villager is our most delicate and nuanced blend. It features a pair of washed coffees from Latin America and East Africa. The backbone of the flavor profile is a mouth watering sweetness reminiscent of raw sugar and honey. Floral accents and a bright citrus acidity round out the profile. Villager currently features Ethiopia Kochere and Colombia San Antonio.
